Privacy Policy

Last updated: 24 July 2026

Bread Boutique ("we", "us", "our") respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and your rights. It applies to breadboutique.com.au and our Darwin boutique.

What we collect
- Contact details — your name, email, phone number, billing and delivery address.
- Order information — items purchased, order value and payment confirmation (we do not see or store full card numbers — see Payments).
- Account details — if you create an account, your username and password.
- Communications — messages you send us by email, phone, contact form or social media.
- Website usage — device, browser, IP address, pages viewed and similar data collected automatically through cookies.

How we collect it
Directly from you (when you order, create an account, subscribe or contact us); automatically as you use our site (cookies and analytics); and from trusted providers who help run our store, such as Shopify and our payment and delivery partners.

Why we use it
- To process and deliver your orders, and to send receipts and updates.
- To provide customer service, returns and exchanges.
- To send marketing about new arrivals, events and offers — only where you have opted in, and you can unsubscribe at any time.
- To improve our website, products and service, and to run and measure advertising.
- To protect against fraud and to meet our legal obligations.

Payments
Payments are processed securely by our payment providers (including Shopify Payments and PayPal). Your full card details are handled directly by them and are not stored by us.

Who we share it with
We only share personal information with parties who help us run the business, and only as needed: Shopify (website and order hosting), payment processors, delivery and postage providers, email and marketing platforms, and advertising partners such as Meta and Google. We may also disclose information where required by law. We do not sell your personal information.

Cookies and advertising
Our site uses cookies to keep it working, remember your preferences, understand how it's used, and show relevant advertising. You can control cookies through your browser settings, though some features may not work without them. We may use tools from Meta and Google to show you our products on other sites; you can adjust ad personalisation in your Facebook/Instagram and Google account settings.

Marketing and your choices
We'll only send marketing if you've opted in, and every message includes an easy way to unsubscribe. You can also contact us any time to be removed from our list.

Overseas storage
Some providers, including Shopify, store data on servers overseas (including the United States). Where this happens, we take reasonable steps to ensure your information is handled consistently with this policy and the Australian Privacy Principles.

Keeping your information secure
We take reasonable steps to protect your personal information from misuse, loss and unauthorised access, and we work with reputable providers. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure. We keep your information only as long as needed for the purposes above or as required by law.

Accessing and correcting your information
You can ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, or ask us to correct it, at any time. Contact us using the details below and we'll respond within a reasonable time.

Complaints
If you have a concern about how we've handled your personal information, please contact us first and we'll do our best to resolve it. If you're not satisfied, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au.
